At Art Retro we offer a number of ways of presenting retro prints and vintage posters to suit your style and budget.
The Basic Wood Mount Look
The print is firstly laminated. This protects the face of the print from dirt, moisture, and bacteria. It is then pasted down onto 9mm MDF board and put through a vacuum press which pulls the print down smoothly onto the backing board.
The edges of the board are bevelled & blackened and a cord attached to the back ready for hanging This is the very popular “minimalistic” style and the most economical way of mounting a print for hanging.
Art Retro offers a selection of prints in this style where appropriate to the style and content of the print.
The Block Frame Look
The print is firstly laminated. This protects the faceof the print from dirt, moisture, and bacteria.
It is then pasted down onto 6mm MDF board and put through a vacuum press which pulls the print down smoothly onto the backing board. The mounted print is then glued into a rebated, flat sided moulding in which the top edge of the frame sits flush with the face of the print giving an extra chunky block mount look. Finally, it is strung ready for hanging.
This is a popular Art Retro style of presentationwhich is a low cost way of achieving a chunky block look while still retaining the retro style.
